Working with local specialist architects and in close consultation with local authority historical officers, we carefully carry out these works using a mixture of traditional techniques and materials and modern techniques and materials where requested, to alter and adapt these historic buildings to suit modern family life.
We have an in depth knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to older and listed buildings, together with a detailed knowledge of the VAT rules for all repair and alteration works.
We have carried out numerous projects on older, listed and heritage buildings and have won some heritage awards along the way. Projects include oast houses, farmhouses, barn conversions, a water mill, cottages and shops.
Some of our more experienced operatives have a wide range of traditional skills important for working on older and listed properties; such as: stonework, flintwork, traditional brickwork, working with lime mortars, lime plastering and rendering, traditional oak framing and oak frame repairs, peg tiles, leadwork and traditional roofing methods.
